6.1. Introduction

This is the Example Problems Guide for Abaqus2Matlab. It contains solved examples that illustrate the use of the application for problems which require coupling between Abaqus and Matlab. Advanced techniques of combining operations through Matlab scripting in Abaqus models are also presented.

In each worked example the source code is presented and discussed in detail in order to help users get acquainted with the application and the way it works. The Matlab scripts for the examples included in this section can be accessed by the Abaqus2Matlab GUI through the Examples menu, by clicking on one of the examples that are shown in the drop-down list.

The external files needed for execution of each of the examples are included in the Abaqus2Matlab application install file (Abaqus2Matlab.mlappinstall) in separate subfolders.

In addition to the Abaqus2Matlab Example Problems Guide, there is the Abaqus2Matlab Verification Guide which contains a large number of examples that are intended as elementary verification of the basic postprocessing capabilities of the Abaqus2Matlab application.

The qualification process for new Abaqus releases includes running and verifying results for all problems in the Abaqus Example Problems Guide and the Abaqus Verification Guide.
